Bio
Ron Hayduk teaches political science at San Francisco State University. Hayduk’s research focuses on political participation, immigration, inequality, and social movements. Formerly a social worker, Hayduk previously was the Coordinator of the New York City Voter Assistance Commission and consulted to policy organizations (Demos, Aspen Institute) before becoming a professor at the City University of New York (CUNY) where he also received his Ph.D. Hayduk is a member of the North American Participatory Budgeting Research Board, the Executive Council of the Western Political Science Association, and the Editorial Board of Socialism and Democracy. Hayduk’s work also appears in popular venues such as Calmatters, the Los Angeles Times, Jacobin, and his research has been covered by the Washington Post, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, NPR, TIME, CNN, and other news networks.
