States Banning IVR and Lawsuits against Cities

Since 2019, members of the GOP and conservative groups have advanced ballot measures banning immigrant voting rights in seven states — Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, North Dakota and Ohio — and they seek to do the same in Kentucky, Idaho, Iowa and Wisconsin in 2024.

They have also brought lawsuits against cities with immigrant voting rights, including Vermont, New York City, San Francisco, and Washington D.C.
